Employees / The model we’re developing

One employee. One clear job.

An AI employee is software assigned a continuing responsibility. It knows what starts the work, what a good result looks like and when it needs you. Small enough to give a proper job description.

Before the first hire

Our first commercial employee is still being defined. The roles below are illustrative concepts, not products available to use.

Example responsibilities

Give the routine an owner.

Each role has a source of work, a useful finish and a point where it must ask.

Illustrative role

Invoice Checker

Get supplier invoices ready for a decision.

Work arrives
An invoice arrives, alongside the relevant order or job record.
Routine responsibility
Compare the details, check agreed charges and prepare a recommendation with the evidence attached.
Owner decision
Bring disputed charges, missing records and payment approval to the owner.

Illustrative role

Booking Checker

Make each booking ready to take on.

Work arrives
A new booking or a change to an existing one.
Routine responsibility
Check the service area, required details and agreed availability. Request routine missing information where permitted.
Owner decision
Bring unusual requests or a proposed exception to the owner, with an alternative prepared.

Illustrative role

Supplier Watcher

Keep an outstanding delivery from being forgotten.

Work arrives
An order confirmation, supplier update or agreed check-in time.
Routine responsibility
Track the promised date and handle permitted follow-ups with the order context already attached.
Owner decision
Bring a delay that affects a job to the owner, with the impact and next step laid out.

Illustrative role

Follow-up Agent

Close the loop on unanswered requests.

Work arrives
A request remains unanswered after the agreed interval.
Routine responsibility
Send a permitted reminder, recognise a reply and stop when the required information arrives.
Owner decision
Bring sensitive replies, repeated silence or anything outside the role to a person.

Inside the role

More than a prompt.

The intended employee model combines a job description with the context and controls needed to keep doing that job.

RoleA job description
One responsibility, a clear finish and an explicit limit.
PolicyYour rules
What it may do, what it must check and when it needs permission.
MemoryBusiness context
Relevant preferences and approved decisions, kept current for the job.
InboxWork finds its way in
Agreed events start the work without a fresh prompt each time.
DecisionsA prepared answer
A recommendation, its reasons and the information behind it.
EscalationsKnow when to ask
Uncertainty and exceptions reach the person who can resolve them.
Audit logA readable history
See what arrived, what happened and who approved a step.
FeedbackCorrections that carry forward
Reviewed corrections update context without silently expanding permission.

A sensible first responsibility

Repeated work.
Recognisable rules.
A clear finish.

A good starting job already happens often, has information available to work from and follows rules you can explain. There should be a person to resolve exceptions and decide whether the result is right.

Broad judgement, unclear ownership or an irreversible action without review calls for a smaller scope.
